“This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.” Morpheus – The Matrix
In the Matrix the rabbit-hole was reality and what was thought to be reality was just an illusion.
Funny how that works in real life. Real life can be, and usually is, stranger than fiction. What isn’t funny is how many people go through their days, their lives, asleep to what’s around them. Conforming to the “norm”. Doing what’s expected because someone somewhere told them it was what was expected. Not really doing what is in their heart, ignoring what their spirit tries to tell them. Asleep with their eyes open. Living a dream that someone else told them was their own when it really isn’t.
Living, really living – alive and awake – isn’t about how much money you make, how many friends you have, how expensive your toys are, your title, your fame, how big your house is, how expensive your car is, who you are married to… It’s about knowing, really knowing, who YOU are and then living YOU. Making no excuses to anyone for being YOU.
After all, if you can’t be YOU, do “you” even really exist…?
